To Indiana

On the Thursday before Christmas my dad woke my sister and me up and took us to Indiana.  I have to admit I wasn't very exited at first because Indiana has never been my favorite place to go.  I guess it's because when you first cross the Ohio River into Indiana, it's not very pretty.  Billboards with creepy skeletons, pregnancy tips, and bible verses.  All you see are gas stations, and warehouses.  I also never feel a good positive atmosphere in that part of Indiana. It just feels dirty.  I have no idea why.

So anyway, we woke up at nine thirty and got up and made sandwiches and got in the car.  We decided to take our eight year old overwieght Corgi with us too.  His name is Oliver and he LOVES car rides.  He was all jittery and jumpy, and he kept climbing under the seat and looking for crumbs and whatever else he could find.  I never like car rides because there crowded, you cant move around, and you always end up barfing or spilling stuff on yourself.  I know, I'm a snob.  I got it from my mother.  I would much rather fly.  It was two hours though, so I wasny going to go there.

We drove to downtown Louisville and my dad explained how the movie, Stripes was filmed in Louisville.  He told us about how Bill Murray left some woman on the Second Street Bridge in a cab because she was being a jerk.  As we drove over the bridge ; we turned on Dolly parton's "Hard Candy Christmas" and we jammed to Indiana.  Our fun-filled day was off to a start.
